Benson Ranch Inc. (Benson) is an Alberta-based publishing company. Benson was incorporated in 1980, originally to hold and operate farm and ranch properties. Since that time, it has engaged in a wide range of activities from farming and ranching to book publishing, which has become its primary focus. Benson is now focused on publishing high impact literary works.

Stephan V. Benediktson is the principal of Benson and is a grandson of the Icelandic-Canadian poet, Stephan G. Stephansson. Known by Icelandic literary scholars as one of the major poets of North America, Stephansson wrote over 2300 pages of poetry and over 1700 pages of letters, essays, articles, and short stories. Stephansson pioneered in Wisconsin and then North Dakota, finally settling near Markerville, Alberta in 1889. The family home near Markerville was restored as a Provincial Historic Site in 1975. Monuments honoring the memory of Stephansson have been erected at the family cemetery near Stephansson House in 1936, by the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada at Markerville in 1950, at his homestead in North Dakota by family members in 2003, and at his birthplace near Sauðárkrókur in Northern Iceland in 1953 by the people of Iceland.

Benediktson is a member of the Alberta Writers Guild, sponsor of the Stephan G. Stephansson Award for poetry, and a member of the Writers Sala at San Miguel de Allende. Benediktson resides in Alberta and in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
